How Time Flies!

July18th marks the anniversary of Josh and I's first date, AND we've now been married for 6 months. Holy cannoli has this year flown by! So, in honor of these events here are a few—long overdue—pictures from our wedding!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

We had two separate cakes. One was a cheese cake, and we had different topping people could add. The second was a to die for chocolate cake. So we needed two toppers, and this set just worked for us!
With both of my parents. Absolutely no resemblance, right? ;)
Our first time being announced as a Mr. & Mrs.!
It was a small wedding, I think we had a total of 60 people including the wedding party!
It was held in the upper floor of a local brewery/restaurant.
I barely ate, and danced a lot. It was so much fun to see everyone laughing, drinking, and dancing.
It is a day I will remember for a long time to come!

Moving Update!

We have moved in to our new apartment!
*Cue cheering*
Picture taken out of one of my bedroom windows!

We officially signed paperwork and such on the 15th,  but we moved everything in on Saturday the 18th and spent our first night! The move, despite trouble getting a truck (long, annoying story) was completed in only 4.5 hours, lunch break and drive time included. The people that helped us really were rock stars, and both my husband and I are very grateful and thankful for them.

Now begins the arduous task of finding a place for everything, and getting rid of boxes! Both of our offices are pretty well set up, or at least mostly unpacked. Once my office is finished, I will be posting a "tour" on my blog. It is full of books, crochet supplies, and my lovely desk. :)

This week has been full of unpacking, organizing, and making trips down to the old place. We will be painting a few of the rooms, and doing some heavy cleaning this coming Saturday, but then that'll be it! Handing the keys back, and on to a whole new life in *gasp* the suburbs.

Our new place is literally a half mile away from where I grew up, so to me, it's everything I've missed while living in the city. Josh...well...He's always lived either in the city, or just outside of it. So the quiet is something different!

On another note, my writing has taken a back seat for the moment in the midst of everything. Though my crochet is still going strong. I haven't opened up my Etsy store (well, I haven't filled it with crochet goodies) yet, but I've had some word of mouth orders which is always fun! So I've been working on fulfilling those orders, as well as finishing up some of the projects for my Craft Yarn Council certification program. But soon, life will slow down again and everything will even out a bit more now that we aren't bouncing all over the place packing and cleaning furiously.

The patio is cat approved!

With the windows open in the evening, we hear birds chirping and the water from the river rushing by, and know that we're home.

Life is a Funny Thing....

So I started this blog back in March with every intention of getting everything shined up and polished...then LIFE happened.
Life has this funny way of showing up like the Kool-Aid man, breaking down the walls of what you thought was going to happen. So here's a little update of how I thought life was going to go:

Finish setting up blog, maybe get some posts written and scheduled.
Finish taking pictures of items for Etsy store, and post them.
Work on getting the final book in my series, The Ryder Chronicles, published in July along with another novella.
Continue to grow social media.

Well...Life came nocking down those notions.
Not many people know, mainly people in my personal life, but I was pregnant in April and lost it. I am not sure what exactly happened, and my doctor can't really explain it either. The end of April/beginning of May were hard for not only me but my husband as well. I did not get much done.

During this time I also was hired as the Crochet instructor in my hometown Michael's store. In a matter of weeks I had to make samples for the classes, as well as start the process of being certified with the Craft Yarn Council.

Currently we live in the city, and have be looking to leave. Neither my husband nor I are happy with hearing gunshots, sirens, seeing people get arrested almost weekly at the grocery store, and narrowly avoiding being in a traffic accident every day driving to and from work. We had set a timeframe of moving out at the end of summer/early fall to continue to work on getting finances in order.

BAM *Cue bricks falling*

My husband was looking at apartments one day (I think it was a Tuesday), and called to see one thinking it would be a wait. Instead we scheduled a viewing that Sunday and filled out the paperwork on the spot! That next Tuesday we got the call that we got the apartment. Not only is this apartment in my hometown, it is a two bedroom with "den", 1.5 bathroom, with completely updated kitchen and bathrooms. It's on the second floor, so we can leave blinds open more, AND it has river views from all but 1 window! It has everything we were looking for, and it totally came out of left field.

We're moving in June 18th.

So now, the current apartment is in the process of being packed.

Not only are we packing, my husband has been working 10 hour shifts Mon-Fri, and a 6 hour shift on Saturdays! I'm working a full time job, and working on crochet items, and finishing up some writing projects. Not to mention the "normal" tasks of making meals, house cleaning, and running errands, and somehow finding time to relax with each other.

Life is BUSY!

I promise I am working on things for this blog. I am *fingers crossed* hoping once we move things will settle down and I can put more energy and effort into this blog!

I sincerely hope that whoever is reading this, you are having a wonderful day, and remember to enjoy the little things.
